“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
- Audre Lorde
What began as personal healing has evolved into a lifelong devotion to community care, creative expression, and ancestral remembrance.
My name is Te’zha (yes, like Fantasia). I am also known as Oya Bumi, a name I received through initiation, transformation, and return. I am a Smoketown native with roots in Mississippi and Chicago, a Delta girl at heart shaped by rhythm, resilience, and the layered stories of the places I come from. These roots live in everything I create.
Much of my work is centered on helping people reconnect to themselves and remember that the body is not just a vessel but a storyteller, an altar, and a source of power.
At my core, I am a creative, an artist, and a feeler. I move through the world with sensitivity and intention. Everything I pour into this world comes directly from the heart, and I would not offer it any other way.
